FRESNO RDA PROJECTS

The major focus of the Redevelopment Agency's work program continued to be on the implementation and follow-through of major, watershed projects that will have a defining effect on the shape and future of Fresno's inner city neighborhoods, downtown, and industrial areas. The Agency has actively worked to create and advance numerous major projects in the Downtown, Southwest Fresno, Roeding, and Fresno Air Terminal Area project areas. In 2006 we continued to address the "new generation" of high priority projects intended to extend the Agency's tools for blight removal and job creation into parts of the downtown, inner city neighborhoods, and industrial areas that had not been addressed before. The major priorities included these RDA Projects:

New Federal Courthouse Construction

Regional Medical Center Development

Convention Center Parking Expansion

Federal, State, and County Downtown Office Developments

California-Orange Housing Project

Uptown Museum District Development

Chinatown Beautification

Vagabond Lofts Artistic Residential Community

Eaton Plaza Development

Civic Center Square Development

Armenian Town with 5th District Appellate Courthouse

Santa Fe Depot and Promenade

Destination Downtown also incorporates several new initiatives for downtown
Fresno including:

• A 300-400 room full-service Downtown Hotel located near the Convention
Center.

The South Stadium Project which would be home to several thousand square
feet of new shopping and entertainment.

• Revitalization of the Fulton Mall with possible limited traffic and refurbished
pedestrian and landscaped areas.
